Hearing Aids

STYLES OF HEARING AIDS:

BEHIND-THE-EAR (BTE) hearing aids house all the electronics and components in a case behind the ear. Sound is transferred into the ear via a small tube.

IN-THE-EAR (ITE) hearing aids come in many sizes but all components are housed in a plastic case that fits into the ear canal.

Contralateral Routing of Signals (CROS or BiCROS) hearing aids are for individuals with no residual hearing in one ear, i.e. a “dead” ear. A microphone on the dead ear picks up sound from environment on that side and transfers it to another device on the good ear so that you have 360˚ hearing again!
